Skybolt Capital is 100% family owned and managed by Oliver Simmons.
He started his career in 1984 as the youngest qualified trader for Bank of America on LIFFE (The London International Financial Futures Exchange)
He then moved to Amsterdam to become one of the only European Stock Option Market Makers.
In 1991, having also worked with Credit Suisse First Boston and setting up the London office for the late Steve Fossett – Oliver Simmons embarked on his own to trade independently.
Over a 10-year period he traded stock index and fixed income derivative products, without incurring a single losing year.
During that period he regularly attended property auctions and in the process bought a small portfolio of regulated tenanted properties, which was the inspiration behind Skybolt Capital.
Additionally, with a key interest in horse racing in 2003 Oliver bought a share of a two-year-old thoroughbred in Kentucky with Group 1 Winning owner Matthew Green and aptly named it ‘Art Trader’. The horse won a superb race with champion jockey Johnny Murtagh at glorious Goodwood the following year and later went to race in the prestigious Hong Kong Derby.
